6 July Town Parks to Reopen July 7th July 6, 2020 By Danyelle Barrett General 0 All Town of New Windsor parks will officially reopen to the public tomorrow morning, July 7th, at 9 am. Related Articles Town Hall Reopening to the public on Monday June 1st Effective Monday June 1st, 2020, the Town of New Windsor will begin the process of reopening our offices to the public. The town’s court officers will be screening temperatures of all visitors and face coverings or masks will be required. The safety of our employees and our visitors is of the utmost concern to Supervisor Meyers and the Town Board. We encourage anyone who can still conduct business via phone or email to continue to do so. Town Hall will be open to the public from 11am-3pm Monday through Friday. Social distancing will be in effect with specific waiting areas for each office. We ask for everyone’s cooperation with this reopening and to follow the directions of the court officers and town employees. Town Hall closed to public; Town Hall staff available via email, phone and websites Effective Thursday March 19 New Windsor Town Hall and Recreation Offices will be closed to the public. Employees will be available daily between 10am and 4pm to conduct business via phone, email and website. There is also a mail slot in the front door of town hall that is available for correspondence. Online services are available 24 hours a day at newwindsor-ny.gov. These include online utility bill payments, court fines and fees payments, online FOIL requests, online mapping, and more on our website. On Friday March 20 Town Hall and Recreation Offices will be closed for a deep cleaning and sanitization. Monday March 23 through Friday March 27, Town Hall and Recreation offices will be closed to the public, with employees available from 10am and 4pm to conduct business via phone, email and website. In addition, Supervisor Meyers is declaring a State of Emergency in the Town of New Windsor. THIS IS ONLY A FORMALITY, to ensure the Town is eligible for reimbursement for expenses occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it also removes restrictions on the bidding process. Town of New Windsor in contact with Verizon regarding Fios service in town Town Supervisor Meyers has contacted Verizon regarding their ability to provide Fios service to New Windsor residents. Throughout the month of January Supervisor Meyers’ office has been in touch with the Verizon Director of State Government Affairs, and also the director directly responsible for the Mid-Hudson and Westchester area for Verizon. Both explained that Verizon’s current position is fulfilling their existing signed franchise agreements with other towns, cities and villages. Verizon is not entertaining or committing to any new franchise agreements at this time. Verizon has agreed to monitor the town’s request. Verizon and the Town will revisit this issue in six months to see if Verizon’s position has changed. Town Parks Closed 8/5 & 8/6 due to Tropical Storm All Town Parks will be closed Wednesday and Thursday due to extensive damage from the tropical storm. Our Building and Grounds personnel will be working to remove debris and clean up the parks. Town Board Workshop Agenda - Monday, January 13, 2020 Below is the Town Board Workshop Agenda for Monday, January 13. The Town Board Meeting Agenda for Wednesday will be posted on Monday. Town Board workshops are always held the Monday before the Town Board Meeting (occasionally Tuesday if a Town Holiday falls on a Monday). Often, residents may only see the Town Board meetings where the Board votes on the listed Agenda items, which is held in the courtroom on the first Wednesday of the month. The Town Board workshops are where the Supervisor and board members discuss the issues that will be voted on at the Town Board meeting, as well as other ongoing Town issues. The workshop meetings are always open to the public, and held at 7pm in the Supervisor’s conference room at Town Hall. As part of Supervisor Meyers new Open Government policy, the workshop agendas will be posted ahead of time and shared on social media in addition to the regular Town Board Agendas.
