Buildings & Grounds

The Buildings and Grounds Department is responsible for maintenance and support of all town–owned and leased properties - its buildings and their furnishings and equipment, grounds and infrastructure.

The Department operates, repairs, adjusts and installs a variety of equipment, vehicles, fixtures and systems using carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, mechanical and other trade skills The Department is also responsible for the ground maintenance of our parks and landscaping of all town-owned grounds. The Department clears and plows all municipal parking lots during the winter months. They maintain the grounds at Woodlawn Cemetery and are responsible for the preparation for all burials.

The Department strives to achieve clean, safe and well-maintained properties that offer an optimal environment for our residents, visitors and staff. The Department also works in conjunction with all other departments to provide support and services for all events and activities.
