Town Enforcement of Chapter 223 Property Maintenance Code From the Office of Town Supervisor Stephen A. Bedetti As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall quality of life in our community, the Town of New Windsor will be actively enforcing Property Maintenance Codes across the town. These codes are in place to ensure that all properties—residential, commercial, and unoccupied—are properly maintained and do not present health or safety hazards. Beginning this month, at my direction, our Code Enforcement Officers will be conducting routine inspections and responding to community concerns regarding overgrown vegetation, trash accumulation, structural hazards, and other violations outlined in our municipal property maintenance regulations. We understand that a well-kept community benefits everyone by protecting property values, enhancing neighborhood pride, and promoting public safety. Property owners are encouraged to review the property maintenance standards, which are available on the Town’s website or by contacting the Code Enforcement Office. Link to online code: https://bit.ly/4kzM1O5 Our goal is not to penalize, but to work collaboratively with property owners to keep New Windsor a town we are all proud to call home. If you have any questions about bringing your property into compliance or to make a complaint regarding a particular property, please contact our Code Enforcement Office at (845) 563-4618 or utilize the complaint form below. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Please note, the Town does not accept anonymous complaints. Please do NOT contact the New Windsor Police Department regarding these types of complaints.
