Fire Inspector's Office

The New Windsor Fire Inspector's Office is responsible for the administration and enforcement of New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and New Windsor Town Code. They establish occupancy load and enforces regulations with respect to places of public assembly, inspect above ground and below ground storage tanks of combustible and flammable liquids for Code compliance, inspect mobile home parks, and determine locations for the establishment of fire lanes. Fire Inspectors also investigate fires to determine cause and origin.

Smoke Detectors SAVE lives!

Install smoke detectors on every level of your home. Test smoke detectors on a regular basis. Do not be tempted to borrow the battery for other purposes.

Proper placement of a Carbon Monoxide Detector is important!

If you are installing only one carbon monoxide detector, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends it be located near the sleeping area, where it can wake you if you are asleep. Additional detectors on every level and in every bedroom of a home provides extra protection.
