Employees will be available daily between 10am and 4pm to conduct business via phone, email and website. There is also a mail slot in the front door of town hall that is available for correspondence. Online services are available 24 hours a day at newwindsor-ny.gov. These include online utility bill payments, court fines and fees payments, online FOIL requests, online mapping, and more on our website. On Friday March 20 Town Hall and Recreation Offices will be closed for a deep cleaning and sanitization. Monday March 23 through Friday March 27, Town Hall and Recreation offices will be closed to the public, with employees available from 10am and 4pm to conduct business via phone, email and website. In addition, Supervisor Meyers is declaring a State of Emergency in the Town of New Windsor. This update to the Plan allows the Town to remain eligible for future Federal and New York State mitigation and disaster funding. Public notice is hereby given that the Town of New Windsor Town Board is soliciting public review and comment on its Draft Hazard Mitigation Plan for a period of thirty (30) days commencing on January 15, 2021 and continuing through February 15, 2021. The Town Board has therefore directed the Town Clerk to post a complete copy of the Draft Hazard Mitigation Plan on the Town of New Windsor’s website at: www.newwindsor-ny.gov for public review and comment. Town Encourages Less Visits to Town Hall Amid COVID-19 Pandemic Supervisor Meyers is requesting anyone who does not need to physically come to town hall to please conduct business through email or phone whenever possible. If you are paying your water bill, the bills can either be mailed in, dropped through the mail slot in the front door of town hall after hours, or given to the court officer at the front door during the hours of 11am-3pm. Town hall is still currently open to the public from 11am-3pm. For the safety of our employees and everyone visiting town hall, we are trying to reduce the number of people coming into town hall. New Windsor is currently the third highest in positive COVID-19 test results in Orange County. Court officers are still screening temperatures of all visitors and masks are required. Town of New Windsor Halloween Curfew The Town of New Windsor will be enacting a Halloween curfew as follows - Friday, October 28: 9 PM to 6 AM Saturday, October 29: 9 PM to 6 AM Sunday, October 30: 9 PM to 6 AM Monday, October 31: 9 PM to 6 AM The curfew applies to all minors (persons under the age of 18), except those traveling to or from employment, school activity or medial emergency; or those in the company of a parent, guardian or person in locus parentis. During the aforementioned curfew, all minors shall refrain from congregating on public streets or on public or private property without the permission of the owner or person in control of such property. All minors shall be prohibited from trespassing upon property of the Town of New Windsor unless participating in an organized event of the Town of New Windsor. All persons shall be prohibited during the curfew period from being in possession, on any street or public place, of shaving cream, eggs, soap, rocks, spray paint, flammable or noxious chemicals, weapons of any kind, or any other items that could reasonably be used to cause vandalism or bodily injury. Any person knowingly violating these orders may be arrested and treated pursuant to the applicable laws of the State of New York.
