7 April Town of New Windsor Court is closed until further notice April 7, 2020 By Patrick Mangan General 0 The Town of New Windsor Court is closed until further notice. If you have received a suspension notice from DMV with an effective suspension date during the time of the courts closure, those suspensions have either been lifted or removed. If you are concerned about an unpaid fine please know the court will NOT be enforcing any penalties to unpaid fines during the courts closure. We will be extending payments a minimum of 30 days from the courts re-opening. ALL court matters have administratively been adjourned until further notice: **If you had a court date during the courts closure, or have an upcoming court date while the court remains closed, we will be sending each person a notice with a new court date once we get the directives that the courts can re-open. We thank you for your cooperation in the effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to the others in the community. Related Articles New Windsor Parks Closed Until Further Notice Effective at 8am on Monday, March 30th, all New Windsor Parks will be closed to the public until further notice. Basketball rims have been removed and tennis courts have been locked. Supervisor Meyers has been forced to take this further action based on large groups of people not observing the social distancing guidelines set by New York State at our parks. New Windsor Police and Recreation Staff will monitor parks to enforce this closure. Town Hall closed to public; Town Hall staff available via email, phone and websites Effective Thursday March 19 New Windsor Town Hall and Recreation Offices will be closed to the public. Employees will be available daily between 10am and 4pm to conduct business via phone, email and website. There is also a mail slot in the front door of town hall that is available for correspondence. Online services are available 24 hours a day at newwindsor-ny.gov. These include online utility bill payments, court fines and fees payments, online FOIL requests, online mapping, and more on our website. On Friday March 20 Town Hall and Recreation Offices will be closed for a deep cleaning and sanitization. Monday March 23 through Friday March 27, Town Hall and Recreation offices will be closed to the public, with employees available from 10am and 4pm to conduct business via phone, email and website. In addition, Supervisor Meyers is declaring a State of Emergency in the Town of New Windsor. THIS IS ONLY A FORMALITY, to ensure the Town is eligible for reimbursement for expenses occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it also removes restrictions on the bidding process. Town of New Windsor in contact with Verizon regarding Fios service in town Town Supervisor Meyers has contacted Verizon regarding their ability to provide Fios service to New Windsor residents. Throughout the month of January Supervisor Meyers’ office has been in touch with the Verizon Director of State Government Affairs, and also the director directly responsible for the Mid-Hudson and Westchester area for Verizon. Both explained that Verizon’s current position is fulfilling their existing signed franchise agreements with other towns, cities and villages. Verizon is not entertaining or committing to any new franchise agreements at this time. Verizon has agreed to monitor the town’s request. Verizon and the Town will revisit this issue in six months to see if Verizon’s position has changed. Town Offices Closed & Court Cancelled Tuesday, December 17 New Windsor Town Hall & Recreation Offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 17th due to the impending winter storm. Court scheduled for Tuesday for Justice Meyers has been cancelled. Refuse will be picked up as normal.
