New Windsor awarded two grants totaling $15,500,000

Supervisor Meyers is pleased to announce that the Town of New Windsor has been advised by New York State that the town has been awarded two grants totaling approximately $15,500,000.

One grant was awarded by the state for the ongoing expansion and upgrading of the town’s wastewater treatment plant and the other grant was awarded for upgrading one of our buildings used by our senior citizens.

The wastewater treatment grant of $15,000,000 is going to have a positive impact for our taxpayers in the town’s sewer districts. The second grant of $500,000 will be used for repairs and upgrades of the Marasco Center building utilized by our senior citizens.

I want to acknowledge all the hard work by our staff in putting together the necessary grant applications and in particular our town attorney’s office and the town’s engineer Mike Weeks from McGoey, Hauser and Edsall Engineering.

Job well done by all!
